Hubby's Quilt

Still working on my hubbies quilt. Not much progress since the last post. He wants me near him most of the time so it is hard to work on the piecing of the top. We now have a hospital bed in the living room so I can be near him while I sew.  Maybe I can finish the top and start hand quilting. Yea!!

Until next week. Keep Quilting.

Hubby's Quilt

Still haven't finished. My husband is in Hospice care and had a rough weekend. Yesterday was a lot better but he wanted me beside him most of the day so I didn't get to work on his quilt. Hoping to slip some sewing in this afternoon after laundry and house cleaning.

Well, best laid plans and all that. Was making great progress but then I had to stop since my hubby's terminal cancer decided to progress to the point of calling Hospice. Hospice has been a blessing to us as they deal with ordering medication and the insurance company. Today I hope to get sometime to work on the quilt some more.  I also started quilting the outline of a bunny printed on a piece of white cloth. Haven't decided if it will be a table runner for Easter, or a baby blanket. This gives me hand work while I am watching TV or waiting at the doctors office. I will try to post a picture tomorrow to show you the bunny and the slow progress so far. I seem to not be able to keep my stitches as even on curves as I do on straight lines so I have removed most of the stitches and started over.

Until tomorrow, have a blessed day.

Welcome to my adventures in hand quilting. I am Progressing slowly on my hubby's quilt. I must admit, this homespun is a bear to work with.
I apologize for the picture quality it looks fine on my viewer and editor but transfers grainy.

This fabric stretches, snags, frays and shifts easily. The pattern is sort of a rail fence option but a simpler lay out.

I either cut wrong or my 1/4 inch seam was way off as the blocks came out rectangle instead of square. Rather than take them all apart I chose to trim them even after sewing into rows.  This has slowed down the piecing considerably. Hope the quilt police don't catch me, LOL

Two rows sewn together.

My goal is to finish this top this week so my friend Kathi and I can start quilting it. I will update at the end of the week.

Have a Blessed Day
