Busy Work

This past week has been kind of chaotic. I am finding that trying to start an online business is chaotic at best. I never seem to accomplish my goals for the week. Maybe they are to lofty? Or, maybe I have gotten used to not having to follow a schedule and thus am easily talked into going to lunch or anything else. :)

Most of what I have been sewing has required all machine work and sewing machines do not cooperate with me. I did finish some things for the shop this past weekend.

More bowl Cozies.

Holiday Table Runners

These Large Mug Rugs/Snack Mats are ready to be quilted.

And this table topper which I have been struggling to add ribbon too for two days beat me down.
So I gave up and just added binding.

At least I will have some hand work to relax with.

I did get some slow Sunday Stitching in on this Fall Table Runner.

I love hearing from you. So leave a response even if ot is just hello.

Cameras and Bowl Cozies

I didn't post last week because #1 my camera decided not to download to my computer. I tried every hour but it kept saying the card wasn't there. Got up the next morning and it worked as always. Gremlins?

The #2 reason is I have been busy learning how to promote and stocking my Etsy Shop, Increasing my stock was one of the recommendations.

Microwave Bowl Cozies are my biggest sellers on Etsy and Ebay, but I do not like making them. They are time consuming and not much profit; in fact if I charged by the hour I am losing money. But, they get people to the shop. I think it is called a loss leader in retail sales.

I also made some Loralie Mug Rugs...

and some table runners.

Most of the work is done on the sewing machine but I do hand sew the binding down on the table runners and mug rugs.

So off I go to make more bowl cozies. Have a great week.

I Love hearing from you. Please drop a line about this post or just to say Hi.

All the pictured items are available in my Etsy shop,

Hibiscus and Coasters

Have you ever seen a hibiscus keep its bloom at night?

Lately my hibiscus out front has been staying open at night. It closes sometime though because in the morning it is spent.
The picture is not very good because it is dark out and the flash reflected off the rain drops.

I am also not a good camera person. ;)

Not much quilting going on as I have been working on my Etsy shop listings to improve sales. I am hoping things pick up for the holidays so I do not have to find a part time job. :(

I did finish a set of coasters but then had a visitor and that was that.

My quilt friend Kathi at Design Orginals by KC gave me a lesson on Picasa, wow what a difference. I spent the evening after the lesson redoing all my pictures. I even had a sale the next day. Yeah!

Visit my Etsy shop, DaytonaDamsel, and check it out.

Do you sell your creations online? If you do please share where and the name, I would love to visit your shop.

Blessings,  Debbie

Coasters and more Coasters

I am trying to stock up my Etsy Shop for the Holidays Shopping Season. I started with making coasters....

... and more coasters.

Aren't these the cutest. They are sold, sorry.
I also redid the back of my Autumn Table Runner but after binding and taking a picture, I still do not like it.

I think that yellow fabric is to light and creates to much contrast.
What do you think?

I have also spent hours tweaking my shop listings and pictures. My good friend Kathi showed me how to tweak my pictures using Picasa. What a difference.

Are you preparing for the upcoming holidays? If so, please share. I love hearing from you.
